Hey, you. I know you. You’re the last-minute-halloween-custome guy or gal. You’re the one who’s Googling “last minute Halloween costume ideas” in the 45 minutes remaining until your friends pick you up for the costume party. And you know what? That’s okay. I’m just glad you ended up here. Here’s a list of some pretty great DIY Halloween costumes.

Edward Scissorhands

This classic movie gives way to an incredible DIY costume. You can stop by your local novelty shop and pick up a leather outfit with tons of metal, or to make it even easier, put on a white long sleeve collared shirt, black pants, and black suspenders.

For your scissor-hands, you can paint plastic knifes silver, use folded aluminum foil, or you can go balls to the wall and tape some real scissors on there (just don’t get too close to people ).

Bag of Jelly Beans

This costume is super easy. Just get a large clear plastic bag of sorts. Make two leg holes on the sealed side of the bag. Fill the bag with small, multi-colored balloons; these are your jellybeans. Then, use ribbon to make shoulder straps to prevent your jellybeans from spilling all over the ground.

For added flair, you can stick a “Jelly Belly” sign on your front or have someone with neat handwriting put some nutrition facts on your rear end.

Beer Pong Table

Are you ready to become America’s favorite drinking game? If so, suit up with this DIY beer pong table costume. All you need is a long piece of cardboard, preferably white or brown. Tie it around your neck with a bit of rope and glue some red solo cups on either side of the board and you are set.

Gumball Machine

How cute is this? Making this will take a little patience, but it’s so worth it. You’ll need a red dress that you’re not afraid to mess up, some hot glue, and several bags of pom poms. The upper half of your dress will be the gumball holder, and the bottom half will be the pedestal.

Glue on the gumballs, and ensure that there are no empty spaces. Print out a quarter inserter paper online or make one using felt and a permanent marker.

Sugar Mama

If you’re a mom, chances are, you already have the only two things you’ll need for this hilarious and super easy Halloween costume: sugar and a baby carrier.

Just toss that bag of sugar in your baby carrier, and you’re out the door. Looking good, sugar mama. Looking good.

Identity Thief

This is hilarious and incredibly easy to make. Just put on a black hoodie, a black pair of pants (dark jeans would work, too), and a pair of dark sunglasses. Then, buy a pack of “Hello, my name is…” nametags. Write random names on them, and affix all over yourself.

Spice Girls

Get it? Spice girls. Cooking spices. With so many spices out there, none of your girlfriends will feel left out with this DIY costume. Grab a few red aprons and a printer full of ink. If you have the patience, a white poster board and several red, yellow, green, and brown markers will do the trick.

Arthur

Everyone’s favorite cartoon character, this costume can be made in no time and looks great on females and males alike.

All you need is a pair of light-colored jeans, a yellow sweater, a pair of round glasses, and a pair of animal ears. If you don’t have any that look aardvark-like, just use cardboard, felt, a headband, and markers to create your own.

Dunkin Donuts

They say that “America runs on Dunkin.” If that’s the case, now you can run America with this easy DIY costume. Just pick up one of those donut-shaped inflatable innertubes, a basketball jersey, leggings, and some basketball shoes. And there you have it; you’re a dunkin’ donut.

Regina George

Make “fetch” happen with this incredibly simple Regina George from “Mean Girls” Halloween costume. All you’ll need is a pink skirt and cardigan combo, a hair straightener, and a pair of your finest heels. Grab your girlfriends to complete the whole squad and you’ve survived Halloween for another year.

Hershey’s Kiss

Catch the eye of everyone who passes by dressed as a timeless piece of chocolate that everyone loves. If you want to conserve aluminum foil, you can make a hoop made of metal wiring and affix it around your upper thighs. Then, wrap with aluminum foil in a cone shape.

Complete the look with a cone-shaped aluminum foil hat.

Fork-in-the-Road

Sometimes in life, you find yourself in a situation that requires a hard decision. These situations are often referred to as forks in the road.

Creating this hilariously simple Halloween costume is sure to give everyone a kick. You can literally buy a fork-in-the-road t-shirt, or you can make one yourself. All you need is a black long-sleeved shirt and black pants. Place white pieces of white tape down the middle of your clothes and stick a fork in the middle.

Now you’ve got yourself a fork in the road.

“When life hands you lemons…”

When life hands you lemons, you can create a really simple Halloween costume using the citrus fruit and a t-shirt. Just write the word “Life” on a shirt, and walk around with a handful or basketful of lemons. Simple and funny.

French Toast

A black and white striped shirt with a black beret – the unofficial uniform of the French (at least from our perspective).

Couple the striped shirt, black beret, and red scarf with a piece of toast tied around your neck. Say “oui” to French toast.
